South African Born chef Scott Henry

The year 2000

Where does your inspiration come from?
I read a lot of cook books and I am constantly looking at the internet, and mostly seen fresh produce and a lot of traveling

How would you describe your style of cooking?
Modern Brasserie style with fine dining style plating

What is your favorite ingredient?
Vegetable they are so much fun

What is your favorite thing to cook?
BBQ at home in the garden or on the beach after a good spear fish.

What is your favorite cuisine?
Asian and European

What is your advice to people who want to become a chef?
Do a stage with a really top kitchen over the holidays once you have don that and see what it takes to work holidays and weekend, you will have a good idea of what it like to be a chef.

What is your ultimate food dream?

Where are you working now?
Self employed traveling private chef.

Where do you see yourself in 1 year, 3 years and 5 years?
My 8 year goal is to have a long term private chef job with a high net worth family with a global itinerary, and my long term goals after I have saved enough to retire is to have my own little property, with organic gardens, fire pit and beer making process
