Who are you and where do you come from?
Jansa Vu (1991) and Danna Vu (1996). Two happy sisters with roots from Vietnam, raised in a small town called Oskarshamn, in Sweden. Jansa's born in Hong Kong.

When did you start working in a kitchen?
Danna went to cooking class from 16 years old for 3 years. Jansa worked extra as a waitress during her teenage years, but took a break from it with other kinds of work-experience. Jansa shifted direction after finishing Technology/Marketing in school and decided 2012 to study Pastry/Baking for a year, and from there continued the kitchen adventures, and been in different kind of bakeries, sushi restaurants and foodhalls.

Where does your inspiration come from?
Being exposed to different kind of cultures and food. Good cooking and food shows is both entertaining and inspiring too.

How would you describe your style of cooking?
Serve it as you wanted it.

What is your favorite ingredient?
Butter, heavy cream, vanilla beans, general fresh and local products.

What is your favorite thing to cook?
Jansa: Homemade meatballs, gravy and mashed potatoes served with lingonberries. Danna: Challenging pastry desserts.

What is your favorite cuisine?
So hard question! Probably Vietnamese. And Italian.

What is your advice to people who want to become a chef?
Be genuinely passionated about it. It's a challenging proffession, you have to love it to endure it when it gets real though.

What is your ultimate food dream?
Own a successful restaurant or foodtruck together. And also to create a new legendary dish. Or find an undiscovered delicious (and healthy) ingredient.

In Scandic Laholmen in Strömstad, Sweden

Where do you see yourself in 1 year, 3 years and 5 years?
More skilled. Still working in the kitchen, and still loving it.
