My name is David Vidal and I am a 33 year old chef from Malta. My first kitchen job was when I was 13, helping at my uncle’s confectionary alongside my father. I wanted to become a chef from watching my dad making nice pastries. I then enrolled into the Institute of Tourism Studies in Malta and was taught by some great teachers. I then worked in a couple of restaurants under Charles Demanuele where I was taught Sicilian and Mediterranean cuisine. At 24 I moved to Sweden and worked in some more restaurants. I now work as a sous chef at Laholmen Hotel in Strömstad with some great colleagues and alongside my brother Michael Vidal.
