I am a professionally trained New York City chef. I have worked in many different areas of the culinary world from back of the house to the front of the house. My last professional position was as General manager for a cooking school in lower manhattan. I am now living in Northern California with my family where I recently launched my food blog Simmer + Sauce.

Work Experience

Apr 1998 - Feb 2000 Saucier
The Century Association Line chef responsible for meats, fish, sauces, and soups. During a portion of my time there I was also responsible for pastries. I cooked for both the restaurant (both lunch and dinner service) as well as for private parties, events and galas held at the club. Typical covers ranged from 10-500 people.
  
Mar 2000 - Sep 2000 Manager
Ocean Restaurant Manager. Responsible for full restaurant including hiring and finances.
  
Sep 2000 - Apr 2005 General Manager
Cooking by the Book General manager of the cooking school. Responsible for event sales, accounting, website, recipe testing, development, menu planning, hiring, staffing, for all culinary team building events, private parties and author/chef events.
